Group Joining Manaslu Circuit Trek – Budget Fixed Departures for Solo Travelers (2026–2027)

If you are planning a solo Manaslu Circuit trek, our group joining option is a perfect choice for you. This trek is ideal for solo travelers who want to share costs, trek safely, and enjoy the journey with like-minded adventurers from around the world.

We regularly organize Manaslu Circuit group joining treks for solo travelers, where you can meet your trekking partners in Kathmandu before the trek starts. This pre-trek meeting helps everyone get to know each other and feel comfortable before heading into the restricted Manaslu region.

During the meeting, our experienced local guide will provide a full trek briefing, including daily walking hours, altitude information, weather conditions, and safety tips. Your trekking gear will also be checked. If anything is missing, the guide will recommend renting or buying equipment in Thamel, which is easy and affordable. Joining a group not only makes the Manaslu Circuit trek more budget-friendly, but also gives you a chance to build friendships that often continue beyond the trek.

Where and How to Join a Manaslu Circuit Group as a Solo Traveler

If you are already in Kathmandu, you can easily meet other solo travelers and join our Manaslu Circuit group trek by visiting Hidden Trek Nepal or Rest Up Kathmandu Hostel. We work closely with several sister hostels in Kathmandu, which allows us to connect solo travelers interested in different treks across Nepal.

Many travelers staying at our hostels are looking to join popular routes such as the Manaslu Circuit Trek, Annapurna Circuit, Annapurna Base Camp, Everest Base Camp, Everest Three Passes Trek, Mardi Himal Trek, and Poon Hill Trek. This makes it easy to find trekking partners and join confirmed group departures.

At the hostel or trekking office, you can meet Mr. Prakash, the manager of both the hostel and Hidden Trek Nepal. He will answer all your questions regarding group availability, permits, cost, itinerary, and meeting points. You can also contact him directly via WhatsApp at +977-9840354791.

If you are not in Kathmandu, no problem at all. You can still join our Manaslu Circuit group trek from places like Pokhara, Chitwan, or other parts of Nepal. Mr. Prakash will guide you step-by-step on how and where to meet the group before the trek begins.

How Much Does a Group Joining Manaslu Circuit Trek Cost for Solo Travelers?

The cost of the Manaslu Circuit Trek can vary greatly depending on the operator. When you book through large international companies or big trekking agencies in Nepal, the price is often two to three times higher, mainly due to high overhead costs and international marketing expenses.

If you are looking for a budget group joining Manaslu Circuit trek, booking directly with a local trekking company like Hidden Trek Nepal is a much more affordable option. For our 2026 group joining departures, the cost is USD 560 per person, based on the standard Manaslu Circuit itinerary.

This price includes all required permits, transportation, accommodation, and an experienced local guide. To keep the price flexible and budget-friendly, food and drinks are not included in the package.

Why Are Food and Drinks Not Included, and How Much Do They Cost?

Food and drinks are easily available throughout the Manaslu Circuit Trek at local tea houses. Each tea house provides a menu, allowing you to choose what and how much you want to eat or drink each day.

Below 3,000 meters, food prices are relatively reasonable. As you gain altitude, especially in higher villages, food becomes slightly more expensive due to transportation costs. Some days you may feel very hungry and enjoy a full meal with snacks, while on other days you may prefer light food such as soup or simple meals.

Including food in a fixed package often means limited choices and higher overall costs, even if you don’t eat much. That’s why we recommend trekking without a food package, giving you freedom, flexibility, and better value for money. On average, food and drinks cost around NPR 3,000–3,500 per day (USD 20–25). For the entire trek, this usually comes to USD 240–280.

This means your total Manaslu Circuit Trek cost will be approximately USD 800–850, allowing you to save USD 200–500 compared to standard full-package tours.

What Happens If I Get Sick During the Manaslu Group Joining Trek?

During a group joining Manaslu Circuit trek, flexibility is more limited than on a private trek, as some group members may have fixed travel schedules. If you become unwell, the group may be able to wait for one or two days, depending on the situation and group agreement. If waiting is not possible, the guide will suggest the most suitable option based on your condition:

A) Serious Condition

If your condition is serious, you must use your travel insurance for emergency evacuation. The guide will assist you in contacting your insurance company and arranging rescue support.

B) Mild Condition (Unable to Ascend)
If you feel unwell but are stable, you may descend to a lower altitude on your own or with assistance. The guide can arrange a local porter to help you descend (at your own expense).

C) Unable to Walk
If you are unable to walk but not in critical condition, the guide can arrange a horse or local carrier, which must be paid for by the guest.

D) Want to Continue the Trek After Recovery
If you prefer to continue the trek after recovery, you may rest until you feel better and then proceed toward Larke La Pass (5,160m). Please note that the Manaslu Restricted Area Permit is valid for 7 days. If additional days are required, any extra permit cost will be your responsibility.

Where Can I Rent or Buy Trekking Gear in Kathmandu?

We recommend visiting Hidden Trek Nepal or Rest Up Kathmandu Hostel, where we work closely with trusted trekking gear shops nearby. Through our local partners, you can rent or buy quality trekking gear at fair prices, saving time and money before your trek.

How Many People Are in a Manaslu Group Joining Trek?

Group size depends on the travel dates and season. We organize small group Manaslu Circuit treks, usually starting from a minimum of 2 people.

2–5 trekkers: 1 experienced local guide

6–10 trekkers: 2 local guides

More than 10 trekkers: The group is divided into smaller teams with 3 or more guides, while walking together on the trail

Once a departure date is confirmed, the trek will not be canceled, even if someone withdraws at the last moment. In some cases, the trek may continue with a single trekker, ensuring your travel plans remain secure.

When Is the Best Time to Join the Manaslu Circuit Trek? Can I Trek in Winter?

You can join our Manaslu Circuit group joining trek throughout the year, as we organize departures from January to December.

Peak seasons:

Spring: March to May

Autumn: September to December

During these months, we offer multiple fixed departure dates.

Off-season:

January–February (winter)

June–August (monsoon)

Yes, it is possible to join the Manaslu Circuit Trek in winter, especially in January and February. However, winter trekking depends heavily on weather and snow conditions, particularly at Larke La Pass (5,160m). Flexibility and good preparation are essential during this time.

What Happens If the Weather Is Bad During the Manaslu Circuit Trek?

Nepal’s mountain weather can be unpredictable due to altitude and changing climate conditions. Even during the best trekking seasons, snow or rain is possible.

If weather conditions become unsafe, we will take one of the following approaches:

A) Wait for Better Weather
If possible, we may wait for one or two days until conditions improve.

B) Adjust the Itinerary
If waiting is not practical, we may descend to lower elevations or continue with alternative side trips in the lower Manaslu region.

C) Group Decision with the Guide
All decisions are made together with the group leader and trekkers, prioritizing safety. The final plan will be agreed upon collectively.

Can I Get a Refund If I Leave the Trek Due to Weather or Personal Reasons?

Unfortunately, refunds are not possible if you leave the trek early due to weather conditions or personal reasons. This is because permits, guides, and logistics are arranged and paid in advance.

We always do our best to adjust the plan safely and fairly, but safety comes first, and some costs are non-refundable once the trek has started.

Can I Get a Private Room during the Manaslu Circuit Trek?

During the Manaslu Circuit Trek, accommodation is provided in basic local teahouses. Facilities are simple but comfortable enough for trekkers in remote mountain areas.

Rooms usually have two single beds with blankets, Bathrooms and toilets are often shared, especially at higher altitudes

In peak season (March–May and September–November), room sharing may be necessary due to limited availability

During the off-season (June–August and December–February), it is usually easier to get a private room, depending on availability. In some villages, toilets and bathrooms may be located outside the teahouse building, especially in higher regions.

Can I Extend the Manaslu Circuit Trek Beyond 12 Days?

Yes , the Manaslu Circuit is one of the most flexible long-distance treks in Nepal. If you have extra time, there are several incredible extensions that allow you to explore deeper culture, quieter trails, and authentic Himalayan lifestyles.

A. Tandrang Village Experience with the Manaslu Circuit

Before starting the main trail, consider spending time in Tandrang, a peaceful village near the Manaslu region. Here, you can stay with a local family in a traditional homestay, explore untouched nature, and experience daily village life. Guests often enjoy participating in farming activities, learning local cooking styles, and discovering cultures rarely seen by typical trekkers.

B. Lower Manaslu Trek Before the Circuit

The  route is ideal for trekkers who want gradual acclimatization while immersing themselves in diverse ethnic communities. This 3–5 day extension passes through beautiful hillside villages, terraced farms, and culturally rich settlements ,  offering a softer introduction before heading into higher elevations.

The Manaslu Circuit trek with Tsum Valley , For travelers seeking a deeper Himalayan journey, Tsum Valley is an exceptional addition. This hidden valley near the Tibetan border requires about 5–6 extra days and rewards trekkers with ancient monasteries, strong Tibetan-influenced traditions, dramatic landscapes, and a spiritual atmosphere that feels untouched by time.

D. Manaslu Circuit with Annapurna Circuit (Two High Pass Adventure)

The Manaslu Circuit With Annapurna Circuit Adventure lovers can continue toward the Annapurna region after crossing Larkya La Pass, eventually reaching the famous Thorong La Pass. This combination is often called the “Two Pass Trek” and showcases Nepal’s extraordinary geographic diversity , from remote wilderness to classic alpine trails.

Can I Stay in a Homestay During the Manaslu Trek?

Authentic homestays are limited along the main Manaslu Circuit because the higher mountain region mainly offers traditional teahouses. However, if you explore Lower Manaslu or Tsum Valley, genuine homestay experiences are available. These stays provide a rare opportunity to connect with local families, enjoy home-cooked meals, and better understand Himalayan traditions. During the quieter off-season, many teahouses also feel like homestays due to the smaller number of trekkers and the warm hospitality of mountain hosts.

What Is Life Like for Local Guides from the Manaslu Region?

Guiding in Nepal is largely seasonal. During peak trekking months, guides lead travelers through the Himalayas, sharing their knowledge, culture, and mountain expertise.

When the trails grow quiet, many return to their villages and work as farmers, growing rice, corn, potatoes, and other seasonal crops. Agriculture remains an important part of mountain life.

For trekkers interested in authentic cultural exchange, visiting during planting or harvest seasons can provide a meaningful glimpse into rural Himalayan living.

Choosing a local guide not only enhances your trekking experience but also directly supports families in remote mountain communities.
